Man, I've been doing a lot of these journals!
Well, they are fun... and I just got linked to this vid. Rather interesting...

This is, in my opinion, what we ought to be doing about pirates. Putting them out of business.
In the past, in Roman times, Rome itself was dependant on grain from Iberia. The grain ships were its lifeline. And pirates were a plague on it, forcing them to bend to their demands. Until Pliny the Elder went to deal with the problem. It was a twenty year campaign, but in the end piracy had been eradicated from the Mediterranean.
How did he do it?
He burned their ships. Killed the crews he caught at sea, and landed troops to -educate- any town, city or village that supported the pirates.
It's brutal, but it works.

Star Wars models for DAZ
Images of available Star Wars models for your 3D rendering. Note that these are not downloads but, where possible, download links will be on the pages. Some are hi-res characters and clothing for G8 and G3 models, some are simple objects such as vehicles. I'm hoping this will be a fairly exhaustive look at both free and premium models available for Star Wars fans.

Not Dead Yet!
Just updating the journal on the front page. It's been a long while, but I'm working to get things back up and running. More to follow soon! (I hope!)
Math is so very funny...
Ever been in math class and heard the teacher say "You'll need to know this when you grow up?"
Of course you have.
And your first thought is "yeah right. Like I'll need to know quadratic equations. Or multiplication tables, remember those? Or Trig.
Aaaalll bullcrap. Cause you can never think of an application in real life where you need this.
Well, I've had the misfortune of hitting upon all three over the past while :P
Anyhow, work was oddly the first one I ran across it. The tables, I mean. Counting rolls of change in a drawer. Six rows of eight. So, that's one out of three down. Man and I hated the times eight table. Figures that'd be
CON roll failed: You have a new game addiction
So, I've gotten into Warmachine/Hordes.
Had a demo game of it a while back, really enjoyed it. Gameplay is nice. Clicks along at a nice, healthy pace. I haven't found seen any signs of "Germans in '44" syndrome as my friend Ken Burnside puts it (which is VERY good).
So I figured, why not. After reading a fair amount, I'm going Cygnar. Blue guys, fairly mixed mode combat, but mainly does lightning and ranged combat. Hope to have some pics up online soon enough :)
Decided as well to go with Kara Sloan as my main warcaster. Miss Long Range Sniper. Also rather pleasantly surprised, as I think I can mod her figure reasonably well. She normally
Take one tablet and call me...
Got out of work and wandered around the future shop with a $25 gift card burning a hole in my wallet.
Thought about getting a wireless headset for my computer. Cable's really getting annoying. Also thought about some CDs, or movies.
Then I saw they had Wacom Bamboo tablets on sale. I got the smallest model, minus the gift card and plus tax for a whole whopping twenty dollars Canadian. Damn good deal if I dare say so myself.
Currently excavating my desk to get some more space for it, but I do so look forward to taking it for a spin :)
